The Growth of truffles – my philosophy
One very important thing for me—perhaps the most important—is the satisfaction of my clients. When my clients are happy and satisfied, I am happy. I have always done, and will continue to do, everything possible to ensure that my clients are pleased with the products I provide. This is my philosophy.
As many already know, truffles grow spontaneously, underground. This ensures that the product is 100% natural, as it should be, and as it has always been.
Climate plays a crucial role in the growth of truffles, as well as in the quality and quantity available each year. No two seasons are the same. Snow, excessive rain, extreme heat—and sadly, the way we humans fail to care for our environment—all affect the availability and price of truffles. This can make truffles expensive and in some years, extremely scarce.
The Unique and Unpredictable Nature of Truffles
The fasinating thing is that every truffle is unique. They are found in different regions, in different types of soil, at various altitudes, and during different seasons.
A thing we should note is that even the most beautiful round truffle —shaped like a peach or a mandarin—can still have internal imperfections. It may contain worms, holes, or might not be fully mature. Often, this can only be determined when the truffle is used, or by making a small incision to check its ripeness.
